Article tracker

Computer Programming
Project Overview
The article tracker is a collection of R scripts that records every story shared by the Granite State News Collaborative, then finds where those stories were reprinted across all the partner outlets. The tracker, which is automated to run on a Raspberry Pi, outputs a series of Google spreadsheets that include basic analytics and links to all the reprints.
My Contributions
I conceptualized the project from scratch and on my own initiative, knowing that the Collaborative had until then lacked metrics to illustrate the reach and impact of its work.

To build the tracker, I taught myself R and Git, then wrote a collection of scripts to search and scrape outlet websites for stories, to find matching language between stories, and to save the findings on the Collaborative's Google Drive.

I later automated the article tracker using a Raspberry Pi.
